Philanthropic Gifts Prompt 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Ashtabula Main Hall to Be Renamed After Longtime Dean Susan J. Stocker, Ph.D.

In recognition of the generosity and commitment of James E. Mayer Jr. and Glen and Nancy Warner for their gifts toward a $500,000 endowment, the 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ University Board of Trustees approved on Sept. 20 naming the main building at 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ University at Ashtabula as Susan J. Stocker Hall.

91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ University at Ashtabula and Cleveland Clinic are partnering to offer an associate degree program in respiratory therapy at the hospital’s main campus  in Cleveland later this year. The program provides access for participants to train for the in-demand profession of respiratory care. It also supports career growth for program graduates and practicing respiratory therapists with a path to admission for the online Bachelor of Science degree in respiratory care offered by 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Ashtabula.

In March 2015, Nick Pizzi hit rock bottom. After receiving his third DUI, he decided to stop drinking. But unfortunately, it was too late. Four months later, before his daughter’s eighth birthday, Pizzi was sentenced to one year in the Ashtabula County jail, where his life would change forever for the positive. On May 14, 2021, he will pick up his bachelor's degree diploma during the 72nd Commencement Ceremony at 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ University at Ashtabula.
