Many professors have certain influences that inspire them to teach. Nov. 3: Jason Prufer is the author of Small Town, Big Music - The Outsized Influence of Kent, Ohio, on the History of Rock and Roll.  The book features first-hand stories of big-name musicians traveling through Kent, as well as the local music scene where Joe Walsh, Patrick Carney, Chrissie Hynde, and DEVO refined their crafts. 91�㽶��Ƶ University at Tuscarawas’ Gunnar Tharp, of East Canton, scored his 1000th career point on Sunday, October 28, 2018, as the Golden Eagles opened the 2018-2019 basketball season by dominating Ohio University Zanesville 132-74. Tharp, a graduate of Canton South High School, is a sophomore majoring in both criminology and justice studies and sociology. He ended the game with 14 points.
