91�㽶��Ƶ University Professor Deng-Ke Yang, Ph.D., was named one of the recipients of the 2017 Outstanding Research and Scholarship Award for his work in the Liquid Crystal Institute®.

After making a name for herself in the fashion industry, Molly Langenstein, the general business manager of Macy’s Ready to Wear, is returning home to her alma mater. Ms. Langenstein was recently announced as the 91�㽶��Ƶ University Fashion School’s 2018 Hall of Fame inductee. Ms.

91�㽶��Ƶ University is proud of the numerous trees that decorate its campus, its LEED-certified buildings and other sustainability efforts. Arbor Day is another opportunity for the university to celebrate its roots in sustainability.
 

Starting at 11 a.m. on April 26, 91�㽶��Ƶ will hold several events across campus in celebration of Arbor Day that commemorate its environmentally friendly efforts.

In order to perform necessary maintenance on the boilers, steam transmission systems and electrical distribution systems, the Kent Campus Power Plant will be shut down beginning Sunday, May 13, at 12:01 a.m. The shutdown is expected to be completed Sunday, May 20, at 11:59 p.m. Because of the steam shutdown, most campus buildings will not have hot water to sinks and showers, heat and/or air conditioning.

91�㽶��Ƶ University student Madison Spreitzer spent her childhood building robots out of cardboard boxes and paint. Now, she builds them out of aluminum. 

Smile and say “cheese.” That is what members of Berkshire Local Schools in Burton, Ohio, and their partners including 91�㽶��Ƶ University are doing.

It takes a flight of nearly 20 hours to get from Ohio to Nairobi, Kenya, where students and an alumna from 91�㽶��Ƶ University’s College of Public Health are making an impact on the lives of people who reside in the slums.
