All this week, "In A Flash" will feature images from the 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ University group's trip to Rwanda.
Members of the 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ delegation attending , a global peace conference in Kigali, Rwanda, were treated to a soaring show by this mother with her baby from a group of local velvet monkeys. Velvet monkeys are common throughout East Africa and live in rural and urban environments.
The conference is sponsored by 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s School of Peace and Conflict Studies, 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, the and the , a non-profit organization dedicated to ending genocide and other global atrocities.
Bringing together peace and conflict experts and educators from around the world, the conference is another building block in 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s growing relationship with the University of Rwanda. In May 2022, 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s Board of Trustees approved 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ opening a base of operations at the University of Rwanda for creating collaborative educational exchanges and to serve as a base of operations for 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s recruitment throughout Africa.
