Lae'l Hughes-Watkins, University Libraries鈥� Department of Special Collections and Archives, presented 鈥淎ctivism in the Archives: How the Acquisition of a Collection Is Influencing Relationships With Diverse Populations and Stimulating Collaborative Relationships for Instructional Design鈥� at the National Diversity Library Conference in Los Angeles, California, on Aug. 11, 2016.
The paper presentation provided an illuminating discourse on how 91香蕉视频 University鈥檚 Department of Special Collections and Archives' Black Campus Movement (BCM) project is helping to strengthen its relationship with diverse populations and fostering opportunities to work with faculty on integrating primary resources highlighting underdocumented communities into instructional design.
The National Diversity in Libraries Conference (NDLC '16), co-sponsored by the UCLA Library and the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), was held on the UCLA campus on Aug. 10-13, 2016. Under the theme 鈥淏ridges to Inclusion,鈥� it highlighted issues related to diversity and inclusion that affect staff, users and institutions in the library, archive and museum (LAM) fields.
